Lion’s Head Branch 202 News

14 January 2020

Submitted by Peter Dodge, PRO

Lion’s Head Legion Branch 202 got off to an early start for 2020, holding its first Executive and Regular Members Meeting on January 2nd.

Following a highly successful and very active 2019 the need to answer “what next” for 2020. (Watch this Space).

Winter time Darts and Euchre are in full swing with around 20 players, each Monday and Thursday, trying their skills (or lack of it) throwing Darts!

The Legion is extremely grateful to Rob Taves and Faye Fudge, who have donated six Brand New Dart Boards that were installed ready for 2020.

Chairman Richard Smith informed both the Executive and General Membership that, following the Branch Audit by Zone Command, that he has been told that the Lion’s Head Legion, even though they are one of the smallest within the Zone, are being highly complimented on the efficiency and enthusiasm of its 100% Voluntary Membership.

George Bowman, Membership Committee, reported 100% of Members are up-to-date and paid for 2020.

The next major winter activity will be the “sold out” Valentine Dinner and Silent Auction planned for February 15th 2020. The Draw for the $1000.00 Raffle, for funds to support the building of the Wheelchair Accessible Washroom being the recipient of the resulting proceeds, will be held during this event.

Yet again the Legion welcomes applicants for Membership to the Branch, yet reminds members of the Public that attendance for Darts and Euchre are open to all.
