Ken & Jean celbrate their 70th Wedding Anniversary

The Lion’s Head Ladies Auxiliary were honoured to be asked by family to host the celebrations for Ken and Jean Diebel’s 70th Wedding Anniversary.

We had a full house for the “Come and Go” in the afternoon were Ken and Jean were able to welcome many friends and family some travelling distances to be here to congratulate them on their milestone Wedding Anniversary. Later in the afternoon the Ladies prepared a turkey dinner for the family, and we had 3 Legion gentlemen formally serve the meal to Ken and Jean and their family.

Ken and Jean met in Hanover after Ken got home from military duties overseas. They raised 3 daughters and now have 5 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. They moved to Pike Bay in 1980 after Ken retired. They are very proud Legion and Ladies Auxiliary members. Ken having served the Branch in many ways over the years as Treasurer, President and allunimum pull-tab collector and has now retired from District Zone Treasurer position. Jean is a Life Member of the Ladies Auxiliary having served in office as V.P. and Executive member and Treasurer for a number of years since becoming a member 1980. Ken says that belonging to the Legion has given them many joys and entertainment since being here plus many good life long friends.
