November Ladies Auxiliary News
28 October 2014
Submitted by Leona McCarthy Vice-President Ladies’ Auxiliary
Remembrance Day Services were well attended at the area cenotaphs. It was wonderful to see so many school children and the school band and Dr. Thomson did a fabulous job providing music for remembrance.
At our meeting our Convention Delegate, Sue Halliday, made a detailed report from the Ladies Auxiliary Convention held in London. The next Convention will be held in 2016 in Petawawa.
Meat Pie making day is always a busy but fun time for the Ladies. We made 1,450 meat pies, filling the orders we had and will have pies available at our annual Christmas Bazaar. The Bazaar will be November 22 at 9:00 a.m. at our Legion Hall on Highway 6, north of Lion’s Head. We will have tables filled with crafts, preserves, sewing, knitting, baking and Christmas treasures. Lunch is available.
Bring in the New Year with a Dinner Dance AT 7:00 p.m. 31 December 2014. We will enjoy a Roast Beef Dinner served with all the fixings and dessert. Party favours and a light luncheon will be served.
