The Fish Fry will be served on Tuesday August 15th from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Legion. Thank you to the community members for reserving their tickets ahead of the dinner. Tickets have sold very quickly. The Fish Fry consists of one piece of white fish, a baked potato, a vegetable, coleslaw, a bun and butter with your choice of a dessert. Coffee, tea or lemonade are included.

The Legion Executive and members at the general meeting on Thursday August 3rd, welcomed Dawn Spence and Valorie Tilley as new members. The speaker was Bill Streeter who spoke about John Pearson, a former resident of the Northern Bruce Peninsula who was a recipient of the Victoria Cross medal. There is a large plaque at the Lion’s Head cenotaph that was dedicated to him.

The next membership meeting will be held on Thursday September 7th at 7:00 p.m. at the Legion. After meeting in the afternoon for many years the time has been changed to encourage the members who work during the day to attend a meeting. The members attending will hear Jane Kramer speaking about Camp X during WWII. If you are a member please attend.

If you would like to be a member contact the membership chair, Susan Uren at 519-793-3888. Membership applications are available online. Bursary applications are also available.

Corn Hole continues on Thursdays at 1:00 p.m. outside until August 31st. You do not need to be a member to play.

If you know of a veteran who needs to be contacted, let Nancy Alleyne, the Veteran Service Officer know by phoning 226-974-2505. Nancy also looks after rental requests at the Legion.
