Happenings at the Lion’s Head Legion Branch 202
Darts Every Monday Beginning October 2nd

September is here and we look forward to the colour changing on the trees. Activities and meetings will resume with the Branch Legion Meeting on September 7 at 7:00 p.m. The Ladies Auxiliary Meeting is on Tuesday, September 12 at 1:30 p.m. New members are welcome.

      The Lion’s Head Legion Branch 202 plans to start darts on Monday evenings at 7:00 p.m. on October 2nd. You do not have to be a member to play. There will be darts and cribbage on Thursdays, beginning October 12th at 1:00 p.m.

      Corn Hole ended on Thursday, August 28th. The players enjoyed a BBQ and desserts at the Legion. Thank you to everyone who participated in the weekly Corn Hole games.

      The Ladies Auxiliary members with volunteers will be making meat pies on September 19th. If you have pre-ordered your pies, remember to pick them up at the Legion between 3:00 and 5:00 p.m. If you can volunteer to help, be at the Legion by 9:00 a.m. Call Jean Shearer at 519-793-3014 for information. New members are welcome. The Ladies Auxiliary members continue to cater dinners to the S.W.A.N.S. on the first Wednesday of the month and the Lion’s Head and Ferndale Lion’s Club on the second and the fourth Wednesday.

      The Bruce Men’s Shed will meet on Saturday, September 16 at 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. Bring a friend and attend to learn about the activities planned for the fall. Call Gerry Tilmans for additional information at 519-793-3005 or brucemensshed@gmail.com

      The Old School House Club will meet at the Legion for dinner on Tuesday September 26 at 5:00 p.m. for a roast beef dinner. Reserve your spot by e-mailing Janice at janjackson260@gmail.com or phone 519-793-3589. Non-members are welcome. Speaker will be Rachel Taylor from Home and Community Support Services. There will be entertainment by a local band.

      The Lion’s Head Legion has a 50/50 lottery which is drawn once a month at the General Meeting. The proceeds are given to charitable groups in Bruce County. Tickets can be purchased for $1.00 at the Legion and at By the Bay in Pike Bay. If you are the winner you will be called after the monthly Legion draw.
