On May the Ninth

26 May 2015

Submitted by Mary Smith, PRO
On May the ninth the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 202 Lion’s Head and the Royal Canadian Ladies Auxiliary were pleased to host a reception for our local Second World War Veterans. The reception honoured and thanked Veterans for their service, sacrifice and dedication during the Second World War.

Our Member of Provincial Parliament Bill Walker was unable to attend at the last minute. He was represented by the Mayor of Northern Bruce Milt McIver. Our Member of Parliament Larry Miller and Milt McIver honoured these veterans with pins, Provincial mugs and certificates recognizing their service.

Honoured was: John Knowles, Alan Campbell, Alf Myer, Ken Diebel, Mervin Kaizer, Alfred Savage, Frances Warder and Bill Colter.

It was a pleasure to spend an afternoon with these people.
