Presidents Report

Don Smith, our padre/chaplain, passed away on June 12, 2014. Thank you to the members who attended the Legion Service. The Legion is aware that without a padre/chaplain a protocol for a Legion Service is needed in case a Legion Official is called upon to lead a Service. The combined Yard Sale was a success with over $500.00 made by the items that were sold. Thanks to everyone who helped with the set up the day before and with the sale itself.

The Country Roast Beef Dinner held on July 2, 2014 was a success. Thank you to my wife, Jeannie for convening the dinner. Also thank you to Jean Shearer who was at the Legion on Tuesday and Wednesday to make sure everything was in order and for her help in the kitchen. Thank you to all of the people that helped including at least five non Legion members and the Ladies Auxiliary members. The pies, squares and cakes were made by the Ladies Auxiliary members.

On July 2, 2014 I received information that Comrade Larry Adams was taken to the Owen Sound Hospital in critical condition. (Sharron talked to Shirley Adams today, Saturday July 12, and found out that Larry came home from hospital today and he is doing well). In regards to the Legion outside east wall, I have not received any estimates. I am asking for someone to contact contractors to ask for estimates in order for the Legion to apply for a Trillium Grant. (Sharron Colter has volunteered to call some contractors to ask for estimates for repair of the east wall).
