you to Jean Shearer and Jean Van Tooren for their assistance.
Fred reported that darts will begin the first Thursday after Thanksgiving.
The Fish Fry on August 6th was a great success with almost 200 people attending
including volunteers. We were sorry to have to turn people away at the door as we were sold out. The Legion
Executive encourages members to buy or reserve their tickets early next year. Thank you to Gord Elson for
preparing and cooking the fish with Rick Nolk assisting and to Sue Halliday for convening the dinner. Thank you
also goes to all of the volunteers who assisted at the Fish Fry.
Larry Adams is recovering well and the Legion has presented him with a gift
certificate.
Fred is encouraging members to attend the Honours and Awards Ceremony on the
evening of Tuesday September 16th.
Richard Smith reported that the Honours and Awards Ceremony will begin
with a social hour at 6:00 p.m. and pot luck dinner will be served at 7:00 p.m. Many of the members of the
Legion and Ladies Auxiliary will receive recognition for years of service and for positions held on the
Executive. The members who will be receiving recognition will be sent notification the first week of
September. Come out and support your Legion members by being there.

the Poppy tagging. More information will be in the September and October newsletters. The balance in the Poppy
Fund is $6,197.18.
