July and August months are quiet months for the Lion’s Head Legion as most activities stop in June and resume in September. Therefore there will not be a calendar prepared as usual. Please check the website lionsheadlegionbranch202.ca for information about the Legion and a copy of the calendar if needed. Bridge will continue throughout the summer on Fridays. Let me know if you want a copy of the summer calendar.
Reminders:
Volunteers are needed for the Country Roast Beef Dinner on Wednesday July 1, 2015 at 5:00 p.m. Call Sue Halliday at 519-795-7533 if you can assist or donate a dessert. Sue is convening the dinner.
Volunteers will also be needed fro the fish fry on Wednesday August 5th at 5:00 p.m.
Good News!!!!!
The Ontario Seniors’ Secretariat has approved an application for a bus trip that I called “Seniors Bus Tripping in Bruce County.” There are 12 seats available as many members have already reserved. Phone Sharron Colter at 519-793-3473 to confirm your reservation or to sign up for the trip. The day is funded by the Ontario Government and the Senior Secretariat.
Donations:
- A $200.00 donation from the General Account was made to the PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder) Foundation Fund created by Major (retired) Dee Brasseur, one of two of the first Canadian Women Military pilots who flew C-18’s, fighter jets in Canada and Europe. Major (retired) Dee Brasseur spoke to the Lion’s Head and Ferndale Lions on June 10 at the Legion about her military career and her PTSD Foundation Fund and the special coin that she sells to support research and education about and assistance with PTSD for veterans and serving military who are suffering. Legion members were invited to attend at 8:00 p.m.
- The Cadet Corps in Owen Sound received a donation from the Poppy Fund.
- Lottery Draw June 4, 2015 won by Alf Meyer - Amount: $71.50

- General Membership Meeting – Thursday July 2, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. You are invited!!
- Bridge on Fridays at 1:00 p.m. – Bring a partner. Come out and have some fun!!!
- Legion Fish Fry – Wednesday August 5, 2015 at 5:00 p.m.
