Membership dues are $50.00 if paid by December 31, 2015 for the 2016 year. Members renewing before December 3, 2015 will have an opportunity to win a one-year membership in a draw. Dues are $55.00 after December 31, 2015. Membership dues should be mailed to Lion’s Head Legion, Branch 202, PO Box 302, Lion’s Head, Ontario N0H 1W0. Ladies Auxiliary Membership dues will be accepted by Helen Stewart.

     The Branch will be welcoming 6 new members on January 7, 2016. Please plan to attend and wear your uniform if possible. Join us even if you do not have a uniform.

Ladies Auxiliary Christmas Party – Tuesday, December 8, with Pot Luck 12:00 p.m. Ladies of the community are invited. There will be a gift exchange and a visit from Santa Claus.

     The November 5th 50/50 Draw of $77.00 was won by Nancy Alleyne.

     Support the Legion’s Community Outreach Program by buying a 50/50 ticket. The money is donated back into the community: the food bank, charitable organizations and to youth requests for educational activities. Lottery tickets are available at the Legion and at Marydale’s Restaurant in Lion’s Head for $1.00 each. Next Draw – Thursday, December 3rd.

Remembrance Activities and Services:
     Thank you to the Legion members who canvassed for poppy donations, attended the Remembrance Day Service at the United Churches in Pike Bay & Lion’s Head and paraded on Remembrance Day. The Youth Remembrance Day Essay, Poetry and Poster Contest entries have been judged and certificates will be presented for the winning entries on Friday, November 27th at 1:15 p.m. at the Bruce Peninsula District School, Lion’s Head. All first place entries will go forward to the Zone “C” Competition. Thank you to Kim White for organizing this contest at the Bruce Peninsula District School, Lion’s Head.

     A Security Alarm System will be installed at the Legion on Tuesday, November 24th. The plan is to key all doors with the same locks.

     The water system has been updated with a new pump to improve the water pressure at the Legion.

• Sunday, November 29th at 5:00 p.m. – Grey Cup Party – sausage on a bun with salad and dessert, all for only $5.00, hosted by Fred and Jean Van Tooren.
• Thursday, December 17th at 12:00 p.m. – Branch and L.A. Pot Luck Christmas Party.
• Ladies Auxiliary New Year’s Eve Dinner and Dance is at 6:00 p.m. on 31 December – tickets are $25.00 per person – Call Anne Aubin at 519-793-3472 or Leona McCarthy at 519-793-6232.
