Update on the “Historical Review of the Royal Canadian Legion,
Branch 202, Lion’s Head”
    The “Historical Review” has 160 pages and fifteen chapters. There are many wonderful pictures of the Veterans of the Lion’s Head Legion. First printing is 48 copies. Reserve your autographed copy by calling Sharron Colter at 519-793-3473 or Rick Nolk at 519-793-3860.

    This project was undertaken by Sharron Colter in celebration of the 85th Anniversary of the Branch and the 65th Anniversary of the Ladies Auxiliary in June 2016. After reading the Minute Books of the Branch from 1931 to February 2016, the information has been condensed into a book and 85 Executives and appointed committees are listed with a brief description of activities for each year. A special thank you to Ken and Jean Diebel for sharing their personal picture files of events at the Lion’s Head Legion. It is the goal to have the books printed and bound by June. This “Historical Review” is an amazing testament to the commitment and dedication that the Veterans and the Legion members have displayed over the years to support Veterans and their families and to support youth activities and community organizations.

Darts and Friday Night Euchres have been very popular at the Legion this year. Thanks to the Legion and community members who support these activities at the Legion.

Nominations and Elections will take place at the Branch General Meeting on Thursday, April 7, 2016, at 2:00 p.m. Do plan to attend and be a part of the future of the Lion’s Head Legion. We need all of the members to be involved in the elections. Volunteer to be on a committee.

1. Branch General Meeting – Thursday, April 7th at 2:00 p.m.
2. Ladies Auxiliary Meeting – Tuesday April 12th at 12:00 p.m. for Pot Luck and 1:30 p.m. for the meeting
3. Joint Executive Meeting on Tuesday April 19th at 10:00 a.m.
4. Ladies Auxiliary Meat Pie Orders by April 19th. Order roast beef, turkey or hamburger. Call Jean Shearer at 519-793-3014 or Mo Ready at 519-793-3560 to order your pies at $4.00 each. Pies can be picked up at the Legion after 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. on April 26, 2016.
5. Check your April Calendar for “Darts for Meat” on Saturday April 2nd, 16th and 30th. This will be the last “Darts for Meat” until the Fall.
