Happy New Year!!
Wishing everyone a happy, healthy and prosperous new year!

The Lion’s Head Legion Executive is inviting members to become more involved with the Legion. Attend the next General Meeting on Thursday January 5, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. to meet a new member who will be initiated. Wear your uniform if possible.

Lottery Updates: The 50/50 Lottery Draw for $60.00 was won by Gillian Caesar in December. Remember to buy your Lottery draw ticket at the Legion, from a member or at Marydales in Lion’s Head. The 50/50 Lottery Draw gives back to the community.

Thank you to everyone who has paid their 2017 Legion dues. Congratulations to Don Russell who won the free one year Legion Early Bird Membership Draw.

The Dominion and Ontario Commands of the Royal Canadian Legions will continue to closely monitor the treatment of Veterans by the Federal Government. Several issues continue to be top priority at this time. Some of the issues are, taking care of Homeless Veterans, ensuring appropriate care for our military personnel and proper care for the Veterans suffering from Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder, also known as PSTD. Contact Nancy Alleyne, Veteran Service Officer at nancyalleyne33@gmail.com or 519-793-4346 if you have questions or know a Veteran who needs help from Veterans Affairs.

Bridge will not be played on Friday afternoons at the Legion during the winter months, as Bridge moves to the Friendship Club in Lion’s Head. Euchre at the Legion will continue on Fridays at 7:30 p.m., as of January 6th. Check your monthly event calendar for any changes. Darts for Meat is scheduled for January 14th and 28th at 1:00 p.m.
