The LEGION is fundraising to make the Lion’s Head Legion Wheelchair Accessible. Call Fred Van Tooren at 519-795-7823or Don Colter at 793-3473 if you can sell a book of 10 yellow tickets or purchase a ticket for $5.00 each. The draw takes place in December on Thursday December 6, 2018 at 4:00 p.m. First prize is $1,000.00 and the second prize is $500.00. Thank you to Fred and Jean Van Tooren for a donation of $10,000.00 towards making the Legion Wheelchair Accessible.

The Executive and the General Meetings of Lion’s Head Legion Branch 202 were held on Thursday September 6, 2018.
Next Executive and General Meetings: Thursday October 4, 2018 at 1:15 p.m. and 2:00 pm. Wear your uniform if possible.
Ladies Auxiliary Meeting: Tuesday October 9, 2018 – Pot Luck 12:00 p.m. Meeting 1:30 p.m.
A Joint Executive Meeting will be held on Tuesday October 16, 2018 at 10:00 a.m.

2019 Legion Membership: George Bowman, membership chairman, has asked that membership dues be mailed to Lion’s Head Legion Branch 202, P.O. Box 302, Lion’s Head Ontario N0H 1W0. Cheques should be made payable to RCL Lion’s Head Branch 202 for $50.00. There is an Early Bird Membership Draw that will give each member who renews in September, October or November a chance to win a free membership for one year. Draw will take place in December.

What is happening at the Legion?

• Karen Winters, as Seniors Officer can be contacted at 519-793-4137 if a sunshine card, call or a visit to a member is needed. Let Karen know if a member is in hospital.
• Euchre has started as of Friday night September 7, 2018 at 7:30 p.m. hosted by the Ladies Auxiliary members until the end of January and then the Branch members will host euchre until the end of June. You do not have to be a member to play euchre.
• Darts and cribbage will begin on Thursday October 11, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. You do not have to be a member to play darts or cribbage.
• Poppy Campaign begins on October 26th and 27th. Call Karen Winters at 519-793-4137 to help canvas.

Monthly Draw 50/50 Lottery tickets are available at the Legion, Marydales & By the Bay, in Pike Bay.

Buy a 50/50 lottery ticket for $1.00 to support your community as proceeds are given back to a variety of organizations. Both lotteries are licensed with the Municipality of the Northern Bruce Peninsula.

Honours and Awards Program: Tuesday September 18, 2018. Dean Weir, Zone C-4 Commander and Lion’s Head Legion Past President, Kim White, Deputy Zone C-4 Commander will be attending. Social 6:00 p.m. Pot Luck Dinner 7:00 p.m. Award Presentations are after dinner.

Ladies Auxiliary Meat Pies: Order by October 16, 2018 by calling Mo Ready at 519-793-3506 or Jean Shearer at 519- 793-3014. Order turkey, roast beef or hamburger pie for $4.00 each. Pick up is on Tuesday October 23, 2018 from 2:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the Legion.
