2018 Legion Membership: George Bowman, membership chairperson, reported that there are 103 paid-up members. Invite a friend or family member to join the Lion’s Head Legion. Ask for a membership application.

What is happening at the Legion?

• The Elections for the new executive will take place at the April General Meeting. Consider standing for a position or helping on a committee. The Legion needs volunteers. Attend the meeting in April to vote for the next executive for 2018-2019.
• Veteran Service Officer, Nancy Alleyne can be contacted at 519-793-4346. Nancy works with our veterans as the need arises. Let Nancy Alleyne know if there are any veterans in the community who need her to visit.
• The Military Service Recognition Book Program is also asking for a picture and a short description about a veteran for the Volume V. There are copies of the four previous volumes available at the Legion. Contact a member of the Legion if you would like a copy to read.
• Guy Aubin, Seniors’ Chair wants to know if a member would like a sunshine call or a visit due to illness. Phone Guy at 519-793-3472.
• Youth Public Speaking at the Lion’s Head Bruce Peninsula District School was held on Friday February 23rd. The speakers will receive monetary prizes from the 50/50 Lottery.
• Friday Night Euchre, at 7:30 p.m. at the legion is well attended and lots of fun. Phone Anne Aubin at 519-793-3472 if you can volunteer to make a light lunch for refreshments or help at the door. Volunteers are needed.
• Darts on Mondays and Thursdays at 1:00 p.m. Have fun while playing darts. On Thursdays there is cribbage also.

New Wheelchair Accessibility Lottery:
Tickets are available at the Legion, Marydale’s Restaurant, By the Bay and from Legion members. The yellow tickets are $5.00 each. A first prize of $1,000.00 and a second prize of $500.00 will be drawn at the Legion at 4:00 p.m. on December 6, 2018. Only 1,500 tickets are available. Support the Legion and buy a ticket.
