The Executive and the General Meetings of Lion’s Head Legion Branch 202 were held on Thursday July 5, 2018.
A Joint Executive Meeting was held on Tues. July 17, 2018 at 10:30 a.m.
Next Executive and General Meetings: Thursday August 2, 2018 at 1:15 p.m. and 2:00 p.m.


The LEGION Fish Fry dinner is on Wednesday August 1, 2018 at 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Reserve a ticket to be held at the door by calling Fred Van Tooren at 519-795-7823.

2018 Legion Membership: George Bowman, Membership Chairman on behalf of the Legion would like to thank the members for submitting their 2018 Membership dues. There will be an Early Bird Membership Renewal Program starting in September. If you see George, let him know that you will be renewing your membership for 2018-2019. A Legion membership SUPPORTS THE PROGRAMS AVAILABLE TO OUR VETERANS, THEIR FAMILIES AND THE COMMUNITY. Invite a family member, a friend or a neighbor to join the legion. MEMBERSHIP APPLICATIONS ARE AVAILABLE ONLINE at www.on.legion.ca

What is happening at the Legion?
  • Horseshoes and cribbage are played at the Legion on Thursday afternoons from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. in August. Drop in on a Thursday afternoon and enjoy a game of Horseshoes or cribbage.
  • Karen Winters, Seniors Chair can be contacted at 519-793-4137 if a sunshine call or a visit to a member is needed. Let Karen know if a member is in hospital.
  • Lots of good improvements have taken place at the entrances of the Legion. Thanks to the team of members who have improved the front entrance, both stairs and railings and the accessible ramp and accessibility opener at the back door.

Veterans Service Officer: This position is vacant. If you can help in this position please let Fred Van Tooren know. Any Veteran who has a need for assistance from the Legion or Veterans Affairs contacts the Legion Veteran Service Officer. A training seminar can be arranged.

Monthly Draw 50/50 Lottery tickets are available at the Legion, Marydales & By the Bay, in Pike Bay.
50/50 Lottery Draw July 5th: Amount: $38.00 won by Cathy Rozniski.

Buy a 50/50 ticket to support your community as proceeds are given back a variety of organizations such as Lion’s Head Food Bank, Bluewater Technology and Science Fair, Women’s House, Youth Public Speaking, St. John Ambulance and the Wiarton Salvation Army. Special licensed accessibility lottery tickets are still available for $5.00 each. The draw will be held on December 4, 2018. First prize is $1,000.00 and second prize is $500.00.

Held in Winnipeg, Manitoba on August 25-29, 2018

Past President, Kim White, Deputy Zone C-4 Commander will be attending.
