Membership – Keep your membership current.
The Legion Membership dues can be sent to the Lion’s Head Legion at the address above.
Cheques can be made out to R.C. L. Lion’s Head Br. 202 for $50.00. All membership dues received before
December 1st, enable the member to participate in a draw for a one year free membership drawn at the
December 5th General Membership Meeting. Dues are $55.00 after December 31st.
Legion October Calendar – Check the October Calendar for the upcoming events.
- Veterans’ Dinner – Tuesday, October 1st at 6:00 p.m. – by invitation to the Veterans & wives.
- Executive and General Membership Meeting – Thursday, October 3rd. The Zone C-4 Commander,
Kathryn Eastwood and the Zone C-4 Deputy Commander, Kim White will visit to do an inspection
of our Branch and to bring greetings from the Zone. Do attend at 2:00 p.m. to support your Legion
and to participate in the General Membership Meeting. Although Legion uniform dress is
encouraged, your attendance will be appreciated even if you do not have a uniform.
- The Ladies Auxiliary members are thanked and appreciated for their meal preparations for the
Ferndale and Lion’s Head Lioness and the Lion’s dinners.
- Ladies Auxiliary Meeting on Tuesday, October 8th, begins with a pot luck lunch at 12:00 p.m. and
the meeting begins at 1:30 p.m.
- The Joint Executive Meeting will be on Tuesday, October 15th at 10:00 a.m.
- Darts and cards begin again on Thursday October 17th at 1:00 p.m. and continue on Mondays with
darts and then darts and cards on Thursdays until spring. Join the fun. Darts for Meat, October 26th.
- Friday night euchres have started for the year at 7:30 p.m. Support your Legion and attend.
- Meat Pies will be made on Wednesday October 30th. Order your meat pies by October 22nd. Call
Jean Shearer at 519-793-3014 or Mo Ready at 519-793-3506. There will be roast beef, hamburger
and turkey pies available to order at $4.00 each. Pick up between 2:30 p.m. & 4:30 p.m. Volunteer
helpers are welcome at 9:00 a.m. to make the pies. Lunch is provided.
- Honours and Awards Presentations on Tuesday, September 17th. Congratulations to Fred Van Tooren for receiving the Life Membership Award from Dominion Command.
This honour was bestowed on Fred for his commitment and long-time dedication to the Lion’s Head Legion.
Ken Diebel received recognition for 73 years as a Branch member and Rev. Jawn Kolohan received
recognition for 50 years. Many Branch and Ladies Auxiliary members received recognition for years of
service and others received their officer bars for positions held on their respective executive.

Remembrance Day, November 11th is approaching.
Call Karen Winters at 519-793-4137 to volunteer for the Poppy Campaign in Lion’s Head at the Foodland or
the LCBO. Karen has the schedule and would welcome your call to campaign on a Friday or Saturday during
the three weekends before November 11th.

Colour Party Seminar
Call Dave Uren, Sergeant-at-Arms at 519-793-3888 if you can attend a Colour Party Seminar in Owen Sound
on Sunday October 6th at 10:00 a.m. Dave would appreciate some Branch and LA members attending.
- Condolences were sent to the Cameron Family. “We will remember them. Lest we forget”. The Branch and LA members participated in the Legion funeral service for Allan Cameron, a 39 year Branch member. His father was Raymond E. Cameron, who was one of the founding veterans of the Lion’s Head
Legion in 1931. Raymond (Rae) Cameron was Branch President in 1935 and 1940 to 1944 (in trust).
