Volume VI of the Military Service Recognition Book is available at the Legion. Several Veterans from the Lion’s Head area are remembered. This Volume VI is available free to family members of the veterans, the Lion’s Head School, library and Legion. If you have a family member that you would like remembered in Volume VII, there is a form to complete and a picture to submit to the Lion’s Head Legion secretary by May 2020. The form is available online or at the legion.

Thank you to the Poppy Committee members, Wayne Morningstar, George Bowman, Karen Winters and Susan Uren for your hard work to ensure a successful Poppy Campaign and wreath laying service. Thank you to the Branch and Ladies Auxiliary members who helped campaign for poppies and who marched on parade on November 11th. We Will Remember Them, Lest We Forget.

There is a Grey Cup Evening planned for Sunday November 24th beginning at 4:00 p.m. at the Lion’s Head Legion hosted by Fred and Jean Van Tooren and friends. Bring your favourite appetizer to share during the evening. Chili in a bowl will also be available during the evening. Enjoy the game on TV with friends.

Several activities and dinners have been planned for December at the Legion. Check your Legion December calendar for the time and the date of the events. Darts, cribbage and euchre continue throughout the month. Call 519-793-3473 if you can help the Ladies Auxiliary with a euchre lunch in January.

Next Branch Meetings: Executive Meeting is at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday December 5, 2019. You can support your Legion by attending the General Meeting on Thursday December 5th at 2:00 p.m. There will be a draw for a free one year membership to the Legion if you have paid your membership fees by November 30th. Thank you to the Legion executive members for all of your hard work for the Veterans, members and community.

The Ladies Auxiliary members invite the ladies of the community to a Christmas Party on Tuesday December 10th at 12:00 p.m. for a pot luck luncheon and a visit from Santa. There will be a gift exchange if you bring a gift valued between $15.00 to $20.00. Laugh a lot and enjoy the fun activities. Thank you to the Ladies Auxiliary for all that you do for the Legion and the community.

The red lottery tickets for $5.00 each to support the wheelchair accessable washroom are selling quickly. The $1,000.00 prize winner will be drawn at the special Valentine’s Dinner on February 15th. Plan to attend. Dinner tickets will be available in January. Donate an item to the Silent Auction. Phone 793-3473.
