Attend the April 4, 2019 Lion’s Head Legion Branch Meeting at 2:00 p.m.
Be there to nominate and elect members to the Legion Branch Executive for
2019-2020. The nominations and elections will take place for the following
positions: President, First Vice-President, Second Vice-President, Recording
Secretary, Treasurer, Sargeant-at-Arms and Four Executive Committee
Members. Installation of Officers will be May 21st. The new executive begins as of
June 1st. Your Legion Executive has worked very hard for the membership this
year as many fundraisers have been held for the wheelchair accessible
washroom. More members are encouraged to attend the one hour general
meeting held on the first Thursday of each month. Be a part of the
remembrance, the discussions and the plans for the activities held at the Legion.
Contact your executive members if you have any questions or suggestions.
Upcoming Events, Dinners and Meetings: Mark your calendar.
- Order your meat pies by April 23rd by calling Mo Ready at 519-793-3506 or
Jean Shearer at 519-793-3014. Order turkey, beef or hamburger at $4.00 each.
- Pick up your ordered meat pies on April 30, 2019 after 2:30 p.m. at the Legion.
- Darts end on April 29, 2019 and begin again in October after Thanksgiving.
- Friday night euchres start at 7:30 p.m. and continue until the end of June.
- Mark on your calendars for the upcoming Country Roast Beef Dinner to be
held on Wednesday, July 3, 2019 – 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. and the Legion Fish Fry –
to be held on Wednesday, August 7, 2019 at 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Plan to
volunteer to help and/or attend these dinners to support your Legion.
- Invite a friend or family member to join the Legion. New members welcome.
- Legion General Meeting April 4 at 2:00 p.m. Executive meets at 1:15 p.m.
- Ladies Auxiliary Meeting April 9, Pot Luck 12:00 p.m. and Meeting 1:30 p.m.
- Joint Executive Meeting will be held on Tuesday, April 16th at 10:00 a.m.
Lottery Draw for March 50/50 - Amount: $55.00 Won by: Sharron Colter.
Special Thanks for supporting the 50/50 Lottery Draw that made donations
possible to the Chantry Chinook Classic Salmon Derby for Kids in Southhampton,
the Bruce County Country Fest organized by Brooklyn Hewton for July and
proceeds in the past have been donated to the Lion’s Head Hospital and to the
Owen Sound Regional Health Foundation.
